This picture explains the Great Depression; and how there was a food shortage for many people. The Great Depression lead to many down falls in companies and stores, causing the owners to have a low supply on money for themselves and families. This picture shows many men in line for a small amount of bread. Notice that there are no African Americans in this picture. Written By: Lindsay M.

Now this picture; shows how Labor is a main part in life right now. The African American who is under the box with the two white men siting on it is the labor. African Americans were consider slaves or free laborers. Notice the scale in the background; how one man is trying to fight against high taxes and lower wages. This scale is not balanced out, in this picture it shows how the labor wokers are winning. Written By: Lindsay M.

In this picture; the people are split into two groups, white and black. This seperation of color is also known as racism which was a major role in the Great Depression. Written By: Lindsay M. this kinda of scene on a ruglar basics with african americans in need for a job just slouching around
outside; many of them up to no good. Sidewalk scene in Selma, Alabama.

This photograph was taken by John Collier in the year 1913. It was taken in Craig Field, at the Southeastern Air Training Center, in Selma, Alabama. The setting of the photo is outside beside a plane. The lighting is bright, obviously(SP) during daytime. It appears to be a rurral setting. There are two men in the photo, they are wearing jumpsuits, I think they will be taking a airforce test. There are no stuctures in the photgraph, only planes and people. The tone of the photo is positive, i think its because the two men are about to learn how to fly to protect the country. Or they are trying a new way to earn money for thei families.

This photo was taken by Walker Evans, he lived from1903-1975. It was taken at Storefront, Greensboro, Alabama. The setting of the photo is in front of a store, it is in the daytime. It is in a rurral setting. There is one man wearing a suit and a hat in the photo. He looks like he wants to buy a watermelon. The only sturacture in the photo is the store. The tone of the photo is positive, i think this because he looks like he WANTS to buy something, but can't because he has not money. Although he is in nice clothes, they looks worn out and dirty. The deprssion probably hit him and he is in debt.
